The Obama's Giving Back at Thanksgiving...

The first family celebrated Thanksgiving by handing out turkeys, pumpkin pies, vegetables, stuffing and other Thanksgiving groceries Wednesday afternoon November 25th at Martha’s Table, an NGO in Washington D.C., a few miles from the White House.

According to its website, “Martha’s Table’s mission is to help at-risk children, youth, families and individuals in our community improve their lives by providing educational programs, food, clothing, and enrichment opportunities."
President Obama, First Lady Michelle, daughters Sasha, Malia and First Grandmother Marian Robinson were joined by about a dozen others, including Obama half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng, her husband, Konrad Ng and their two daughters, Suhaila and Savita.

Jennifer Hudson to Headline Obama State Dinner...

It'll be a dreamy entertainment lineup for the first state dinner of the Obama White House: singer Jennifer Hudson is set to perform Tuesday night November 24th.

Hudson, who won an Academy Award for her role in the movie "Dreamgirls," is part of a larger lineup that also includes Indian performers, according to an administration official who spoke on condition of anonymity because details of the dinner won't be announced until later in the day.

The dinner for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (MAHN'-moh-hahn SING)is being held in a tent on the South Lawn of the White House to allow the Obamas to invite hundreds more guests than could squeeze into the East Room, which tops out at 140 people.

The dinner is the hottest ticket in town.

Planning for a typical white house state dinner usually begins a full 3 months ahead of time according to Anita McBride, chief of staff to then-first lady Laura Bush, and Ann Stock, White House social secretary to then-President Bill Clinton, and these two ladies would know exactly what’s goes on behind the White House doors when prepping for such a high profile event.

The Obama's Upcoming State Dinner: What Will Michelle O. Wear? [VIDEO]

Like the rest of you, I cannot wait to see what first lady Michelle O. decides to wear to the state dinner welcoming Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Mrs. Kaur of India on Tuesday November 24th. Fashion consultant and boutique owner Inga Guen says that the first lady needs to keep in mind the culture of people that they are hosting (Indian) when considering what to wear. Our own Governor Bobby Jindal (Louisiana) who is of Indian descent is also scheduled to attend.

Sophie Theallet, A Michelle O. Fave Won the 2009 CFDA VOGUE Fashion Fund



Sophie Theallet is this year’s CFDA's VOGUE Fashion Fund winner, with the announcement made by Nicole Kidman and Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz.

“I am French, so I am going to do my best,” said Sophie Theallet at tonight’s annoucement of this year’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. Theallet, with a little break in her voice, said “You make my American dream come true.” She could have been speaking for all of tonight’s winners, because you don’t need to be French to feel that.
