First Lady Michelle Obama Welcomed School Kids to the White House for a Black History Month Celebration..


In keeping with the Obama's commitment to opening up the White House and making it more accessible to the public, First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed students from Shaw and Stuart-Hobson middle schools, and KIPP DC: KEY Academy, a DC charter school for a Black History Month celebration. Wednesday's event featured Sweet Honey in the Rock, a Grammy Award-winning ensemble, and it was Sweet Honey's first performance with a student audience, including some students whose parents are members of the White House's professional staff.
