First lady Michelle Obama and her daughters Sasha and Malia read Christmas stories to children at the Children's National Medical Center on December 22, 2009 in Washington, DC. The first lady toured the hospital visiting the Heart and Kidney Unit before greeting 200 patients and hospital staff.
FLOTUS read the classic ’Twas the Night Before Christmas” and took a few questions from some kids. One child asked how many trees are in the White House. The first lady answered: “Twenty-six” -prompting Malia Obama to add: “Unfortunately you don’t get presents under all of them.”
