First Lady Michelle O. Shines in Blue to Honor Iraq Veterans
FLOTUS donned the color again in a sleeveless Jason Wu gown (with sparkly Suzanna Dai earrings) to attend Wednesday night's military dinner at the White House, held in honor of Iraq war veterans. As Vice President Biden, the First Lady and the crowd feasted on tomato and basil salad, dry aged ribeye with bearnaise and chocolate creme brulee, President Obama saluted the present 200 veterans and their guests who gathered from all over the country, saying:
"In a culture that celebrates fame and fortune, yours are not necessarily household names. You are something more: the patriots who served in our name. And after nearly nine years in Iraq, tonight is an opportunity to express our gratitude and to say once more, welcome home."
A noble event indeed.
